A little romance, some cupcakes, and the douchiest conversation ever.

Now, typically I’m not into most holidays. Valentine’s Day is not really an exception.  I didn’t decorate.. I didn’t wear red.. My one homage to the day was the artful display of  cupcakes  below.   (prepare to have your mind blown!!!)

I did make some pretty awesome cupcakes though. I made ‘Boston Creme Pie Cupcakes’,  a recipe from Let’s Spice Things Up In Vegas. They turned out really well. This is kind of surprising because I’m not great at making desserts. I don’t deal well with exact measurements.. and you can’t really guess about the amount of flour something requires.

These required me to put some filling into the cupcakes, then drizzle ganache over the top. It was a labor intensive, but totally worth it. I highly recommend!

Now to the romance and the douchiest conversation ever.

Roy and I went out for sushi to our normal spot, and it was super busy due to the ‘holiday’ so we didn’t get a booth like normal. We were crammed into a small table in the main dining area right next to, what I would assume, was a mother and son. The kid was maybe 20-21.. mother appropriately aged for a son of those years. The kid uttered such gold as:

  1. I take business and management classes every day. I’m learning things you wish you knew.
  2. So I told the guy at the mac store, Do you wanna make a sale today? Nonono, do you wanna make a sale today? He gave me a great discount.

It basically sounded like he was trying to impress her in the same way he’d try to impress a girl so she’d sleep with him.

So naturally Roy and I texted back and forth about them throughout dinner.

So romantic. 🙂

  1. they look amazing! And sometimes sharing secrets over dinner can be romantic- even if it’s about the people next to you! Ours is usually about the waitress 😉

  2. I love getting seated right next to a douche-y conversation. That is my kind of Valentine’s Day.

  3. Sania Lali says:

i LOVE cup cakes.. they look yummyy.. 😀

  4. Haha douchey conversations can be so funny – try next to them on a 5 hr plane flight 😉
On another note, your cupcakes are stunning!

    Cheers
