Chin-Ma-Ya of Little Tokyo

Tonight I just didn’t feel like cooking. Maybe it was spending the last couple days in the kitchen, the MASSIVE amount of dishes I did today as a result of my kitchen adventures.. but I just wasn’t in the mood. Instead we went to one of my very favorite restaurants in all of Los Angeles, Chin-Ma-Ya of Little Tokyo.

The first time we went to Little Tokyo after we moved into the area, we stopped at Weller Court. There seemed to be a lot of restaurants and some shops, so we ambled around. After a bit we decided we needed noodle house. There were two options.. one was very packed.. the other, not quite as packed but there were still some people. We figured it was safe.

I can’t remember what we ordered, but we were somehow delivered the incorrect food. We both ended up with Tan-Tan Men (spicy level 3) with extra meat and veggies. It was a fortunate mistake because it was fabulous. Now, everytime we go back, Roy gets the same thing.

I, however, have branched out to the Kara-Age Shoyu Ramen, which is pretty damn tasty. There are little hunks of deepfried chicken, some green onions, and this great broth.

This place is laid back, the food is outstanding, the wait staff is friendly, and we always get our food quickly. To anyone who has never been to Chin-Ma-Ya, I highly recommend it if you get the opportunity!

About The Confluent Kitchen

I am food obsessed. I love trying new recipes, putzing in the kitchen, making my own cheese and other random kitchen tom-foolery. Follow my exploits.. the good, the bad, and the burnt.
